What people would do to gain popularity?
People in general need to appear to feel someone... Some of them can't stay out of the scenes and require to be always in the focus of attention.
There are a lot of way to reach this goal: casting for reality shows, having a token role, doing something stupid or extremly strange, making funny videos and uploading them on youtube, even disturbing journalists speaking live just to say hallo to their mom! Finally, there are the ones who take off their trousers and switch their web cam on... Chatroulette is the example and gave exhibitionist the perfect tool!

Die on Chatroulette
What would you do, if on Chatroulette you see someone hanged?
Well, a young couple, Eva e Franco Mattes, aka 0100101110101101.org, tried to discover the different reactions on April 2010, pretending a suicide in cam and seeing how people react to that.
No good news. A 15 years old girl took a photo with her phone, a group of friend laughed, someone wrote something bad against the hanged man and others stared at him without doing nothing. Only a boy from Canada took care of the situation and tried to call the police.
Ok, it was a joke, but if it didn't?

Another very interesting case history comes from the movie ''Tha last exorciscm''. In August, 2010 if a user connected on chatroulette, it was possible to meet a very pretty girl smiling and winking, who unbuttoned her blouse in a nice way.

Chatroulette is not only a videochat service to meet new people and spend some free time. It is so famous and world wide known that some brand thought to use it to launch viral marketing campaigns, practically at no cost!
